The walls consist of two layers of brick with mineral wool in between. Mineral wool was also used to insulate the roof and can also be found under the heating elements in the floors. This ensures very good thermal insulation to the outside, and also good acoustic insulation of the individual rooms.

A photovoltaic system with 12 modules provides electricity almost for free while still being connected to the main electricity supplier. There is also a small stonehouse in the garden which houses the building services, a 10,000 liter water tank and the solar thermal system.
