Makrades as a village dates back to the 13th century and once housed the workmen that built the fortress of the nearby Angelokastro. Beaches of Agios Georgos Pagon as well as Paleokastritsa are nearby as is the village of Lakones with its stunning views. Needless to say that tourists very much appreciate these surroundings which would make Makrades a good spot for a B&B.
